Self Representation Presentation – Lone Fathers Association – Child Custody

dadsLONE FATHERS ASSOCIATION of AUSTRALIA (LFAA), a national Peak Body, is a non-sexist, non-sectarian, non-profit, and self-help educational and welfare organisation devoted to the interests of lone fathers, their relatives, friends, extended family, grand parents, carers and children.

LFAA will provide a presentation of how to represent yourself in family court proceedings. The presentation is the latest 2012 version of their ‘Getting Started’ Presentation which has been shown to many groups over the years. Presentation duration is approximately 1.5 hours and there will be a Q & A session afterwards.

LFAA has been operating for 39 years with its head office in Canberra and branches through out Australia.

The increase in the number of male suicides related to family issues, the increase in the number of children who can not see their dad – primarily due to non enforcement orders, the call for assistance, advice and support from lone fathers in the Sydney area has now led to a Sydney branch being established.

Our vision is to assist and encourage parents who have, or desire to have, shared parenting status or care of their children to support and sustain their children in a happy and viable family unit, and to help parents without shared parenting status to maintain adequate, positive contact with their children.

Membership of the organisation is open to all separated parents with the proviso that members must be willing to help financially support their children. 35% of the organisation are women.

New members are always welcome. Professional advisors, lawyers and legislators voluntarily contribute expertise to the organisation. A different family law subject matter or topic of interest will be discussed at each of our meetings.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting is:WHEN: TUESDAY 8TH MAY 2012

TIME: 6:45PM for a 7PM start. Finish 9.00PM WHERE: Gwen Logan Room, 2 CIVIC PLACE, PARRAMATTA (in between Library and Town Hall)

GUEST SPEAKER: David Glenmere from SRL-Resources

TOPIC: SELF REPRESENTATION

SRL-Resources has been providing non gender support for SRLs in the Family and Federal Magistrates Court for over 12 years.

The presentation is the latest 2012 version of their ‘Getting Started’ Presentation which has been shown to many groups over the years. Presentation duration is approximately 1.5 hours and there will be a Q & A session afterwards.

  1. I can help in individual cases by being appointed your CSA representatie as I am to others. And I am trying alos out of these cases and othere who join to get up a class action against CSA and SSAT for their dishonest out of their Public Service and Legal Duties failures, Under Administrative Law for their own non compliancest to ‘adminstrative’ law while in charge of a case.

Stop trying to rerun your case but use that as a stepping stone into the faces of Commonwalth Employees failing to carry out their duties. Not only to the Citizens but to our / their employers The Commonwealth Government

  2. Hi – how can I get the presentation on representing your in the family court. Also does anyone know how I can move (i.e.papers/ forms I need to file) to move a matter from the Magistrates Court to the High Court in Canberra – Open Court. I am dealing with complex matters and the CSA I belive has falsified the transcript from a SSAT hearing.
