rudd-v-gillard-labor-family-in-decayIn true Labor style, the bitter and ugly dispute between Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard is tearing away at the very fabric of the Labor government family in Australia.

In true poetic fashion, this ruckus is playing out exactly as the Family Law (Family Violence) amendment act 2011 has destined for the majority of separating fathers and mothers in this country, with one parent losing everything, while the other enjoying the complete spoils of the gains that were earned together. Although perhaps in this case not for very long.

For the uninitiated, I am referring to Labor’s dead-of-night repealing of Australia’s 2006 Shared Parenting laws in November 2011, a law that was implemented in 2006 to ensure a child’s right of meaningful contact with both parents in the event of divorce, except in circumstances where child abuse was a reasonable fear.

Instead, Labor introduced archaic sexist concepts that create an effective presumption of guilt against separated fathers, deeming them a risk of child abuse, even in the completeĀ absenceĀ of proof.

And according to well-versed Labor doctrine, this battle, as per their view on family law, must be a winner-takes-all endeavour, with a guarantee that the most vulnerable in this equation, the so called children of labour, will be hurt the most.

So what does Labor do in this very difficult time?

Do they look at finding some common ground, invite mediation or seek some kind of discussion in the hopes of finding a palatableĀ agreement?

The answer is NO!

No talk, no meeting of the minds, no understanding. In fact Rudd and Gillard have barely said two words to each in the past 18 months. All that the ALP are capable of is allegation after bitter allegation.

Clearly this desperate and archaic political party have no tolerance for Shared Responsibility, common sense or a nations best interest.

And yet it is this same mob who will now determine if a child of a separated family will ever get to see their father again.

Not very good role models, are they?

Instead, Labor introduced archaic sexist concepts that create an effective presumption of guilt against separated fathers, deeming them a risk of child abuse, even in the completeĀ absenceĀ of proof.

They instead prefer to roll out Minister after Minister, Ā making absurd allegations about disloyalty, implying that Kevin Rudd has no right to do the very same thing that Julia Gillard herself did only 18 months ago, under very similar circumstances.

Does anyone see a double standard here?

And for those with a Ā short memory, let’s not forget that Kevin RuddĀ was booted out of the Prime Ministership on the pre-text that he had low approval ratings, and yet his lowest ratings far exceeded the historic lows achieved by Julia Gillard, who will no doubt earn the mantle of Australia’s worst ever Prime Minister, before her tenure is up.

And for the temperamental love child, Independent MP Tony Widsor, who has seen fit to join in theĀ fracasĀ and threaten to force an early election if ‘mummy dearest’ is deposed, well let’s just call this for what it is, an empty threat dummy spit by a spoilt brat who is fully aware that if he ever stood as a member for his electorate again, that he will go the same way as many a Labor MP come the next election, which is perhaps why Windsor’s threat is a joke amongst many in the political establishment.

Julia Gillard, the ex who surreptitiously planned her betrayal of Rudd far in advance, and thenĀ knifed him when he expected it least, now wants us to believe that she deserves to get complete control of the house and the kids too.

So does she deserve it? Well let’s see, she cheated and betrayed the ex, she signed an agreement with the hired help, only to break the agreement when no longer needed, and then she lied to her children, promising them something she never intended to do. And now, she will do her best to remove the ex from the house, by force if necessary.

Oh dear lord, she is clearly destined to win!
