Hidden Girls’ Great-Grandmother Ready For Jail

italiangirls_400_17r6170-17r6172The great-grandmother of four sisters at the centre of a bitter international custody dispute says she would rather end up in jail than reveal their whereabouts.

A Brisbane judge on Wednesday ordered the girls’ grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt to attend court on Friday to answer questions under oath about where the girls are hiding.

The girls disappeared earlier this week to avoid being returned to Italy to live with their father.

Their great-grandmother, who is hiding them, says no-one knows where she and the children are and she would not front court on Friday.

“If the judge throws me in jail, I’ll live with it,” she told the Seven Network.

“I have no respect whatsoever for the justice system.

Abusive Father or Parental Alienation?

609847-letter-to-dad

Editor: Please treat the below article with a grain of salt. In my opinion this is a clear case of parental alienation, vilifying the father in the children’s eyes just so the mother can secure full custody. I find it extraordinary that the Family Court and the Department of Communities and Child Safety would force children into the custody of a genuinely abusive father. It would have been great for the Courier Mail to have exercised balanced reporting rather than falling for the same old tired stigma of the bad father wanted contact with his children just so he can abuse them. This is another example of the entrenched anti-father bias in the mainstream media in this country. This story below is so unbalanced and in my opinion, deceitful, that it would leave the likes of Caroline Overington and Adele Horin utterly green with envy.

FOUR Sunshine Coast sisters in hiding with their 70-year-old great-grandmother to avoid flying to Italy with an abusive and mentally unstable father have written emotional letters begging their dad to leave them alone.

But the father, his lawyers, the Family Court, and the state Department of Communities and Child Safety show no signs of backing down and are using police to hunt the girls.

One Rule for Politicians, another rule for Separated Fathers

craig-thomson-alleged-to-have-paid-for-prostitutes-with-union-fundsExtract: Unless you have been living under a rock, you would be well acquainted with the saga of Australian Labor MP Craig Thomson, whom Fair Work Australia has recently found to have misused his Union credit cards to pay for the services of prostitutes, amongst other misuses of union funds.

In the Australian legal system, people are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, however the evidence against Mr Thomson is by most standards overwhelming. Fair Work Australia has found a striking coincidence between the use of the credit cards in Mr Thomson’s possession, at least one signature on the brothel credit card dockets, phone calls between Mr Thomson and the brothel, and a number of other highly suspect pieces of evidence that in my opinion would be highly unlikely to lead to any other conclusion, other than that Mr Thomson himself actively sought and paid for these services, with union funds.

According to Prime Minister Julia Gillard, politicians SHOULD HAVE a presumption of innocence, even if the facts of their guilt are overwhelming. As such she has steadfastly defended Mr Thomson, claiming that she thought he was innocent and that she would not expel him from the party. In response to media pressure and the prevailing community belief that the evidence stands on its own, she finally relented and expelled him from the Labor party, while still claiming he was innocent, and still accepting his vote in Parliament. The thinking behind this is obvious, as Gillard is acting in her own self interest, damn the ethics at play. But any way you play it, Mr Thomson has received remarkable leniency in this sorry saga, even having his legal fees in defence of these allegations paid for by the Labor party.

However, as many Australian fathers would be well aware by now, Julia Gillard is quite selective as to how she applies the principle of a presumption of innocence.

As in abundantly clear from Gillard’s recent Family Violence amendments to the Family Law act, she believes that even though Craig Thomson should be presumed innocent, should keep his job and should receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in free legal funds to fight his case in Court , separated fathers however do not get such privileges, and in fact should be considered the ‘HAVE NOTS’ in application of the principle of a presumption of innocence.

Not only do separated fathers lose their house, the majority of their life insurance and all other assets, but in most cases, as presumably intended by these amendments, they lose meaningful contact with their children, even if they are completely innocent of any wrongdoing. They are also in many cases prevented from accessing Legal Aid, and certainly never get their legal fees paid for by an organisation for apparently no reason.

Another Female Paedophile Walks Free

pandela-salmonA “RESPECTED” former Queensland Health employee has avoided jail despite pleading guilty to repeatedly having sex with alcohol or drug-addled boys aged 14 and 15.

Lawyers for former QH indigenous health care worker Pandela Carmel Salmon claim the acts were committed when she was deeply depressed at work – from alleged bullying – and suffering rare side effects of prescription medication.

Prosecutor Andrew Lossberg told the Brisbane District Court Salmon lured the boys into sex after alcohol and drug-fuelled parties at her Kallangur home, north of Brisbane, more than four years ago.

Mr Lossberg said that the morning after a night of sex Salmon told one boy: “This could be our little secret. Whenever you want some (more sex) you can come here and get it.”

Tony Abbott, a Conviction Politician with a Blind Spot for Fathers

EXTRACT

tony-abbott-conviction-politician-but-lacking-courage-to-support-fathersNot since the Constitutional crisis of 1975, when an elected Australian Prime Minister was spectacularly sacked by the very same Governor General that Labor itself appointed, has a Labor-led government limped from one self-inflicted crisis to another, in such monotonous repetition, as it does today.

For many reading the papers of the last few days, one would be forgiven for the misconception that Labor’s woes began with Julia Gillard’s broken promise on the Carbon tax, or her lack of political judgment on the asylum seeker situation, or even her political assassination of a first term Labor Prime Minister.

In fact the seeds of Labor’s demise were sown well before Julia Gillard even became Prime Minister……….back to when Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister blinked on the carbon Tax mark I, while Opposition leader Tony Abbott, who many thought was on a hiding to nothing given public opinion at the time, kept his eyes wide open.

……..For a politician openly reviled by the ugly underbelly of many of Australia’s liberal/feminist organisations, one cannot deny that Tony Abbott has shown tremendous courage in staring down an at-the-time popular policy put forward by an at-the-time popular Prime Minister, and the outcome has left almost everyone surprised, except perhaps for Tony Abbott.

However, as a man and as a father, I must add that my opinion on Tony Abbott as a politician of conviction does not find favour in one select community within Australia, that being the ever growing list of separated fathers who have little or no contact with their children post-divorce.

Single mum tough love in the Budget to save $700 million

budget-2012-single-parent-payments-slashedALL single, unemployed parents will have their parenting support payments axed when their youngest child turns eight – a tough-love budget measure designed to force them back to work.

It is understood the government will next week abolish an arrangement set in 2006 which allows single unemployed mothers to receive $648.50 a fortnight until their youngest child turns 16.

About 100,000 single parents will now lose this benefit when their children turn eight. For partnered parents, income support – currently $442 a fortnight – will end when the youngest child turns six.

The measure will come into effect in July 2013 and will deliver a $700 million saving to the government.

Parents who choose not to find work will be penalised about $120 a fortnight by being transferred on to the Newstart allowance.

Father Placed on Child Protection Register for Marrying Young

Bizarre LawsLyn and Neville Cox were childhood sweethearts who had grown up in the same street. They were very much in love. When she became pregnant at 15, Lyn’s father was furious and reported 16-year-old Neville to police, who charged the boy with carnal knowledge.

The half-hour court hearing that followed seemed inconsequential, but more than 40 years later it revealed its lasting legacy, branding Mr Cox a child sex offender who should not be around children.

The couple married soon after his conviction, with nothing but a cup of tea and Vegemite sandwich with Mr Cox’s family to celebrate.

They moved away and had two more children, both of whom became police officers, and are respected members of the community in Wagga Wagga.

Mr Cox’s only brush with the law since has been two speeding fines.

Over the years he didn’t give his juvenile record any thought.

”I just presumed that when I turned 18 it was all over red rover,” he said.

It was not until a few years ago he learnt it wasn’t.
